Emily Olson

Emily Olson, yoga teacher, yoga therapist

Emily began teaching yoga in Portland in 2006 and completed her 500-hour Yoga Therapy program with Joseph and Lillian LePage of Integrative Yoga Therapy in 2008.

She has chosen the field of yoga therapy because she believes the benefits of yoga can be accessible to everybody regardless of where they are when they begin the practice and whatever health challenges they are facing.

Emily recently completed a Viniyoga internship with Olga Kabel and is thrilled to incorporate these tools into her group classes and private sessions. She believes the Viniyoga tradition allows the student and teacher to skillfully combine a wide range of yoga tools to better meet the individual needs of each student.

Emily has been an avid student of yoga for years and her love of yoga and meditation continues to grow as she learns more and more ways to incorporate these practices into the joys and challenges of her life. She is very grateful to Olga and her other wonderful teachers who continually remind her of this possibility.

Emily teaches private sessions and weekly classes.

Erin Bookout

Erin Bookout, yoga teacher

Erin began taking hatha yoga in 1998 in her home state of Indiana to assist in managing the stress of a graduate degree program in French Linguistics. Since then, through a cross country move, another graduate degree, and an injury to her sacroiliac joint, she has repeatedly returned to the practice of yoga as a source of healing, self-inquiry, creativity, and the cultivation of compassion.

In her work as a Speech-Language Pathologist at a local medical center, she has witnessed the power of breathwork and meditation in the management of a variety of diagnoses and in coping with chronic illness. Eventually she merged her background in teaching and the therapeutic process with her passion for yoga, earning a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher certificate and completing an internship with Olga Kabel in private yoga work. She teaches in the Viniyoga tradition because of its emphasis on selecting and adapting yoga tools to the needs, abilities, goals, and interests of the individual.

Erin teaches private yoga sessions, weekly classes and therapeutic series.
